Underwater IVD - The first Underwater IVD Competition was held at the Community Pool in Grosse Ile during the Islandfest Celebration on May 31, 2008.  Five teams from around the state competed with both their remote operated vehicle and the design and innovation of a mission challenge for their opponents!

Innovative Vehicle Design (IVD) is a unique learning opportunity for students to be fully immersed in an engineering project from the ground up.  High school students are teamed with classroom teachers and corporate project partners, lending engineering expertise, to create an electric  vehicle with an innovative component.

Check out the 2008 models as they unveiled their innovations and put rubber to the road on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Nissan NA, Farmington Hills MI.  Performances began at 8:30am and wrapped up at 5:30.  View pictures at:

IVD cars will make their next appearance at the Convergence Conference 2008 at Cobo Hall - October 20-22, 2008.

Mini IVD Racing -  High School Students will convert a complex, sophisticated gas-powered RC Hobby monster truck into an electric vehicle, compiling performance data while incorporating innovation!  We are looking for 12 high school teams ready to conduct research and analysis on this hot topic! The season will kick off October 9, 2008 with an organizational meeting. Contact Barb for details on attendance.
