Convergence Education Foundation
Convergence Education Foundation
The Convergence Education Foundation ignites the creative potential of students in the exploration of engineering, science and mathematics.
We provide grants to classroom teachers and schools that are interested in exploring a fresh, cutting edge, innovative idea. We fund project-based learning that supports our mission and vision in the Great Lakes area.
Innovative Vehicle Design (IVD) is an engaging and immersive program created and sponsored by the Convergence Education Foundation, with the support of corporate project partners. These unique projects link classroom learning to industry via electric cars, aero, lunar, and underwater vehicles.
CEF Classroom Ideas feature high tech equipment with curriculum lessons to intrigue students and enhance learning. GPS units and data loggers are available for check-out and our Segway Human Transporter visits schools to excite learners toward careers in engineering. Unique math initiatives such as TiVitz and the TiVitz Math Tournament provide a formative assessment tool for teachers.
Our staff development workshops are open to educators throughout the region and offer innovative ideas utilizing best practices. We offer workshops on Remote Operated Vehicles in the Classroom, Cell Phone Science, and GPS and Geocaching-From Adventure to Benchmark.
